A great reason to travel a little bit more is to go surprise your boyfriend on a weekend trip! Join me on my fun little adventure.

This weekend was a quick trip to paradise.
As I left my house at 4:45 am on Thursday, I was so excited on what was about to happen: I was going to surprise my boyfriend! I decided that words couldn't do any justice on how fun this will be, so I started something new... A vlog. Making videos isn't necessarily my strength, but when you are planning a surprise, you want to see the end result in full force right?
So for this blog, I am going to sum up what you will see in the video that I attached below.
Anticipating a fun weekend, I packed up my suitcase full of beach clothes and bathing suits to fly out to Houston. My boyfriend had gotten the weekend off from soccer, and was coming home to enjoy a weekend at his friend's beach house... But he didn't know that I was coming too!
I flew out of the San Diego airport at 7:00 am... which meant I had to wake up and leave my house at 4:45 am in order to have enough time to check my bag and get through security. The flight was long, but that's why I prepare for boredom with some pens and paper to do some sketches, a book, a good music playlist, and a couple mindless phone games. What additionally helps me get through a flight is an item of clothing that I can put over my head to cover the lights and take a nap (I know I look weird but who really cares?).
When I landed in Houston, I had to wait for my boyfriend to get in... But the weather was making his flight delayed. He finally landed at 9:00 pm, and then it was time to plan my surprise. The original plan was that everybody was going to go out to dinner with him and I was going to be the waitress for the table, but since his flight came in late we had a improvise. Daltyn (my boyfriend) was hungry, so his mom told him that she order delivery pizza for when he got to the house... and I would be delivering it! The surprise is in the video below.
He was very happy, and very surprised! The next morning Daltyn went and got us breakfast while I got a run in, and then we started on our journey to the beach house. After three hours, we arrived in Rockport at the beach house. We got a little backstory on how the house was affected by hurricane Harvey in 2017 and all that they had to do for repairs.
The whole weekend was ultimately filled with relaxation, fun, and sunshine. We were able to sleep in, eat some good food, and go out onto the water. The house was right on a canal that led into Salt Lake. Salt Lake is a lake that ultimately opens up into the Gulf of Mexico, and so we kayaked out there for a while. The boys really enjoyed playing the cornhole game out in the grass, and that was a blast. Ultimately, it was just a great time. I hope this video portrays exactly that.
